As many of you probably already know, a lot can happen to your skin overnight. So, it’s hella important to make sure your leave it in good condition before you go to sleep. For my night time skin care, not a lot changes. One of the things I enjoy most about cleaning my face before I go to sleep, is this is the time when I can use a mask or exfoliate. So, instead of using my regular cleanser, I swap it out for something that helps my skin with whatever is ailing me that week. For example, if I look at my skin and think it’s looking dead asf or pale that week then maybe I’ll pull out my Freeman Renewing Cucumber Peel-Off Gel Mask. It’s less than 5 dollars at Walmart and Ulta Beauty, it smells amazing and it “instantly refreshes and clarifies for rejuvenated skin”. Another example, for something on the higher end could be a mask like Origins Clear Improvement Active charcoal mask to clear pores. When I tell you, it feels like my pores are getting scraped out with a toothpick, it’s the truth. Be warned, that mask is not for the faint of heart. But, it cleans you like a baby’s wet wipe and you’ll feel so much better and can actually see the difference in the end. No bullshit.
If I’m trying to exfoliate I go in with either St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub which is like $3-4 at Walmart, smells amazing, and really gets rid of any dead skin on your face. It’s good for after a pore strip or a peel off mask just in the places where the dead skin originates. On the flip-side again is Origins Modern Friction: Nature’s Gentle Dermabrasion, which is $40 at Sephora or Ulta. They basically do the same thing, although I will admit that Origins doesn’t smell all that hot. It does have a coarser texture and cleans like a dream.
After all that, I moisturize! This is where one of my favorite products comes into play. So, a million gazillion years ago, my older sister got a sample of Origins Night-A-Mins after she bought a bunch of shit at Ulta. At the time, we still lived together so of course I stole it and used it all for myself. (This is who I am, don’t judge.) This freakin thing smells like an orchard of citrus fruits in a bottle! It’s the best smelling moisturizer (besides their GinZing Energy-Boosting moisturizer) to ever have existed on planet Earth. It’s got Vitamin C in it, Chestnut Extract to renew skin, and Wheat Germ to repair the skin barrier. This is unfortunately $44 at Sephora, Origins, Macy’s, etc. Your best option is to buy it in a gift set, which is what I do, that comes with several other products and sells for about the same exact price or less. They normally keep them all year round on Origins.com or you can find some during the holidays at Sephora.
